NightLab Publications
Within Science View's activities for the diffusion of science, support of publication of relevant books and writings is also included. This initiative commences with the launch of our first book entitled "The Art of Science Communication" by Dr. Spiros Kitsinelis about how to communicate your ideas effectively, how to capture an audience's attention and how to make it understand what you want to say. But this is not just a book for scientists and researchers who want to address other scientists and researchers. It is also a book that will hopefully help scientists and researchers communicate science in general or their specific research to a wider audience.
"The Art of Science Communication" is structured in five parts:
• The first part contains advice on how to communicate with various groups
• The second part presents examples of how different arts can combine in interesting ways with science, resulting in spectacular projects and science communication successes
• Part three focuses on the most powerful tool for communication: film
• The fourth part includes guidance on how to write scientific and technical documents
• A fifth part is dedicated to aspects of non – verbal communication that will hopefully further improve the communication skills of the readerThe purpose of the book is to inspire science communicators by presenting interesting ideas and projects, to guide by referring to the rules and protocols whenever these exist and hopefully to change the way we think of science communication in order to achieve a quantum leap in the way science and its ambassadors are thought of by society.
The book will be useful to many different groups such as students wishing to improve their written and verbal communication skills, professional science communicators searching for ways to improve their work, educators wishing to become more efficient in transferring knowledge to students and finally to any enthusiast or lay reader who wishes to learn how to communicate ideas.
"The Art of Science Communication" (121 pages) is distributed by Science View.
