El Journal de Comunicación Social es una revista académica que es editada por el Departamento de Comunicación Social de la Universidad Católica Boliviana “San Pablo” sede La Paz, Bolivia (UCB). Está dirigida a investigadores e investigadoras interesadas en el campo de las ciencias sociales y de la comunicación social. Su publicación es bianual (julio y diciembre).  Su propósito es la difusión de conocimiento por medio de la publicación de artículos originales, concluidos e inéditos que generen debate sobre fenómenos sociales desde una perspectiva comunicacional. Asimismo, publica ensayos, artículos teóricos, metodológicos, de revisión de la literatura, documentos históricos así como reseñas vinculadas con esta área en particular y de las Ciencias Sociales en general.
